Assignment Description
This series of short activities will help class members to:
- Familiarize themselves with the class maps and blog functionalities.
- Get a better sense of the diversity of the TIG community by exploring the rich art of the Global Gallery and the content of the Country Pages.
- Learn more about other countries and cultures.
- Reflect on the commonalities and differences between people around the world.
Task
Where are you from? Go to the class map and mark your location! Individualy or with other classmates, browse artwork in the Global Gallery and then the profiles of artists whose work you enjoy. Having explored the art and the artists' profiles, spend a few minutes discussing the connections you can think of between yourselves and the TIG members you've been introduced to. How are your lives and locations similar? How are they different? Go back to the class map and locate the countries the people in the photo are from! Then do some research using TIG's country pages to learn more about these countries. Write a short blog entry about you discussed - what are the similarities and differences you noted between yourself and the artists you've been introduced to>
