Description
No discussion of climate change would be complete without considering what could happen if we do not change our path to a more sustainable one. This activity explore the ecological consequences of societies living beyond the Earth's carrying capacity by exploring three ancient civilizations.
Task
Either on your own or in teams, review one of the Societies Collapsed handouts, and brainstorm what you think the society in question could have done to avoid collapse. Next, use these findings to determine whether the city in which you live is in a biologically productive area of the world.
